Dear Bailie Raja,
Further to your correspondence with regards to the above recycling site. I can confirm that although this has been a well-established recycling site for over 20 years and is still very well used by local residents, we are aware of the issues raised by some of your constituents regarding this site.
Following a review, it is our intention to remove the Blue Bins from this site. Residents in the area will still have the opportunity to recycle their paper, card, cans and plastic bottles in the blue bins sited in their back courts. The blue bins from the public site will be removed within the next week.
However, as the properties in this area are predominantly flatted which do not have the purple bin service and due to the fact that the glass bins on the site are very well used, it is our intention to maintain the communal glass service at this site.
We will continue to monitor the site on a regular basis to ensure the glass bins are being serviced to schedule and the site is being kept tidy.
I trust this information is of assistance.
Regards
