The recycling area has become a complete eyesore and health hazard over the last year or so. It is causing traffic congestion on an already narrow street with people coming from far and wide to dump their rubbish. Especially commercial vans which would have to pay if they went to the municipal recycling centres. I would be in favour of removing it altogether as I think it’s unfair to local residents and shopkeepers. This is a beautiful residential area which is now being blighted by this inappropriate mini dump. I feel for the local residents who have to cope with the unsocial hours of refuse & recycling collection and I completely support their request to either remove or substantially reduce the amount of bins placed here. I think a security camera is essential to prevent abuse of this facility.

    1. I agree, Catherine, the surrounding flats have sufficient blue bins – they only require a few bottle bins for this facility to be rendered unnecessary.

  2. I hear today that the large recycling bins for cardboard, paper and plastic bottles have been removed from the end of the street. Looks like a result for your perseverance.
